We tent camped at Lake Winnefield Scott, between Suches and Vogel State Park, and really enjoyed ourselves. I believe they have a section with full hookups. Barring that, the aforementioned Vogel looks fun as well.

Vogel is nice. W. Scott had most campground loops closed due to the low water at the lake.(check on current conditions)

Going up Blood Mountain about 6 miles south of Vogel is an excellent National Forest Campground. No hookups but they do have bath houses with hot showers. Campsites are HUGE and heavily wooded. Nights are cool enough to have a campfire.

Ft Mount State Park is really nice as well. Lots of amenities but still isolated. It sits atop a high mountain ridge with incredible views.

Amicalola State Park is pretty nice with hookups and is due west of Dahlonega.

Unicoi SP is a good one as well, just outside Helen, Ga.

Hard to go wrong with rthe Geogia SP's in north Georgia.
