Folding bed in short bus camper

Posted this in my build thread, so I'm linking it here. I like the design, although I have yet to actually put it to use.

I like it too, I was going to comment in your thread.
It doesn't seem like you would even need the ratchet straps, some eye screws into the end of the wood, and a hook on the wall? Or some slots like a stretcher on the bed panel and some vertical tongues on the wall and the slots slide over them?
Fold, pressure, hook, release....

Great idea!

That was my thought initially, until I tried to fold the thing up and realized that it was damn near impossible to compress that foam to the degree necessary to accomplish this. So I had to cut 6" out of the mattress width and use these HF cinch straps. Also, the idea is that the bed folds with all the bedding in place, and this will take even more compression. I may actually have to go to ratchet straps...although ratchet straps are an awkward PITA.
