I'm going to have a custom cargo trailer built to tow behind the Jeep JKUHR. I'd like some feedback on what the "must have" elements would be.
Requirements:
- sleeps 3 (two adults and one child)
- rugged enough for forest service road light off-roading (will disconnect for rock crawling)
- AC
- Quick camp setup
- Comfortable enough to spent some extended time inside if required due to inclement weather
- can be towed by the JKUHR (4.10 axle gears. Auto trans w/ cooler)
Here is what I'm thinking:
- 6x10 single axle trailer (leaf sprung)
- wired for electrical including LED interior lights and two recepticals.
- roof mount AC unit w/ heat strip (this is a must have as we want to extend our camping into the summer and I just can't sleep well if it's hot and humid.
-insulated walls and ceilings to help reduce AC/heat needs
- I'm leaning toward using bunk cots to allow flexibility while affording quick setup
- RV style door
- one egress window
What else would you want if you were building the trailer?
Thanks!
