Hey guys, I am selling my 1990 Iveco Magirus 90-16AW former German firetruck that I imported last year. As you may see form past posts I also had a Mercedes Benz Unimog a few years ago. I got this to try something different and it truly is an amazing truck. Every time I drive it I am amazed at how well it drives and how perfect of a platform it is for overlanding.

It has been a great truck, much more fun on the road compared to a Unimog, while losing not much off road. Drives so well on the road, I have taken in on many multi hour driving trips. Because it was a fire truck it is exceptionally clean. Titled in TX as a normal passenger vehicle, no special license required as its GVWR is not over 26k lbs. It does weigh 13k lbs with a full capacity of 20k lbs. Registered as antique vehicle so super cheap. Insured under my normal State Farm policy no problems.

Here are some stock specs:

1990 Iveco-Magirus 90-16AW
Full-time AWD, with locking center and rear diff
Solid front and rear axles with leaf springs front and rear
39,610 original km's
Deutz BF6L913C turbo-charged direct injected air-cooled diesel engine (Amazing!!)
5 spd dogleg manual transmission with high and low range
3.5m wheelbase
Just under 10ft tall to the top of the lights
PTO driven front water pump(Yes I wish it was a winch)
Fully hydraulic and operating manual cab tilt
Seating for 9-10, rear benches easily make a bed with a platform on them
Air over hydraulic brakes
Air connections front and rear
NATO style pintle trailer hitch with electrical connections front and rear
12V and 24V systems
Does 65mph on the highway all day long
Spring-ride driver seat
Normal air cooled cab heater plus auxiliary Webasto diesel heater
Rear box is setup for fire equipment, with many trays that slide out, perfect for tools or fridge, etc.
Rear box has a ladder to get on the roof, made to be walked on, chairs up top etc.
Light and sirens work, yes the siren is a nee-naw horn
All doors in cabin and box are locking
Setup to carry NATO style fuel canisters under the body in the rear.
Zero rust on cab and chassis, box has some starting to show
Interior has much sound deadening, very quiet compared to almost any other big truck I have owned or been in
Easy steering and clutch, synchronized

Things I have done:

Removed ladder racks off the top
Removed very low hanging rear side steps
All fluids and filters changed
Alignment checked, it was still perfect
Brand new wheels and tires, duals in back changed to singles
12.00r20 Goodyear G272 tires, 44.7in tall, has been a great tire
Interior redone, seats and door panels recovered

There is a lot to a truck like this, so feel free to ask questions. All mechanical truck, will run till the end of time. Deutz engines are used in agriculture in the US a lot, so engine parts are very easy to find. Value for money compared to a Unimog or the like is off the charts. So much on this truck is already setup so well for overlanding

Located just south of Houston, TX

Asking $28,000

No engine photos? I'm curious about engine access. I've always liked those trucks. Those Deutz diesels are air cooled aren't they? Very simple reliable cooling system.

If you see the album link there are 100 photos there. Engine access is a piece of cake with the cab tilted, access to everything easily.

Yes this engine is air cooled, very reliable.

That's a good price for a truck thats already imported and converted into super singles. Good luck!
