I've seen commercial vans and utility bed trucks use these:

Ugly as sin, not easy to use, but if you want your rig's doors to stay locked, they are the ticket.
OTOH, I've seen a transient break a car's side window with his elbow just to get a pack of cigarettes on the dashboard.
Bottom line...don't make your rig attractive to the knuckleheads. Buy a console safe or strongbox and keep yoiur expensive stuff in there. And if you can afford it, employ some electronic anti-theft technology.
