I thought this was a custom G Wagon. Had 30 day tags from a local MB dealer... If you have deep pockets its only $225K

MBUSA is obviously having a hard time selling them. There are bunch of them listed on Ebay, both new and used with very low mileage.

At $225K I can understand why.. Just checked ebay one is listed for $305K

Cheap as chips.
For a regular G500 we pay 298.000 USD
For the G500 squared, it is 657.000 USD

Tax due to weight and pollutions for these G's are about 3100 USD pr year.

Yes Denmark is the extreme end of the spectrum, but other countries have high vehicle prices too.

They also too tall to fit in peoples' garages or in public parking structures. That probably explains more than anything as to why there are so many very low mileage used ones available.

Yowza! Do you have one?

I always thought about this. That is a truly good point. That because of their height they will not fit in most public parking area and home garages. i can see this truly affecting the sales.

I guess MBUSA may eat some loss on these vehicles or just break even. No telling how crazy expensive maintenance work will be on these beasts.

They actually aren't, it's that people are trying to make a buck on these by buying them and flipped/exporting them, plus dealers are adding crazy mark ups. After driving one, I can say that it has far better on-road manners than a standard G, even though it's about a foot wider and a foot and a half taller. It rides really well, is reasonably peppy, and the look factor is off of the damn charts. If I had 225k knocking around I'd buy one.

The folks that buy the newest coolest cars pay sticker (out the door) at the dealer since they buy cars all the time... Drive them for a few weeks and show off to their wealthy friends before flipping them for some profit.. Money begets money... I'm planning to make my 2002 g500 into an overland build. I don't mind thrashing the paint and putting some dents in it. Any suggestions for a lift vs portals? I'm not sure how much I'm gonna get into this but just the idea of building a true off-road g500 is appealing to me. Tibus off-road seems to have lotsa products for the g class. Any advice/experience with their products would be appreciated? I'm new to the off-road community and I'm enthusiastic about making it my hobby.

It snowed in Las Vegas last week. Some pics of my 2002 build sitting on my driveway....... the 2007 was in the garage. . Lol. I got married and have a family now. No budget for portals..... although I aspired to get them, I just don’t have much time to take the truck out.

I admit the 2002 G500 build may confuse. Lotsa cf look accents but dual shocks on each corner with Hutch dual beadlocks 285/75 r18 BFGoodrich m/T tires. Spare is flip mount with 3 inch mbz star in center. Hardest part was the center caps, adaptors conjured up with 3D printer to fit matte cf Orem caps. I coulda shoulda woulda blacked it all out and removed logos etc..... but this is no modest town in Germany nor am I gonna pretend I’m German.... its in Vegas.
