Small, low-power evaporative cooler

I have one of those, and it's very effective. You're going to get wet, though, if you sit close enough to cool off significantly. I like that it can run directly off a 12/18V solar panel.

Thanks,pictures would be helpful.

Here's a couple of pics to give you an idea. A short section of 4mm tubing is pushed into the nozzle and held in place with shrink tube. The connector is there just to give the shrink tube more surface area to hold onto. The tubing held even without shrink tube, but at 100psi I didn't want to take the chance of the hose popping out while I'm driving and having a stream of water shooting all over the place. It still comes off with a quick pull if I ever need to use the extinguisher for a fire. I use a loop of velcro strap to hold the fire extinguisher handle down when I'm using the system, then the flow is controlled by an inline air switch which I mount somewhere close to the driver seat. Most of the tubing is held in place by wire clips attached to magnets which allow me to position it anywhere inside or outside the vehicle. That's nice thing about having an old car, everything is metal so I can use magnets to hold all my wiring and stuff in place without drilling holes. The extinguisher is held in place with a quick release extinguisher mount because you don't want that thing flying around in an accident.

It's a bit of a hack, I threw everything together right before I was leaving for my trip to the desert last month. That's how a lot of my mods come together, at the last minute right before leaving for a trip. I always plan to finish them off at some point but usually forget about it or move onto something else. That's why my "temporary" PVC cupholders have been in use for about 4 years now :sombrero:

BTW, if this is getting too far off topic I'll delete my posts and move it to another thread.
