Out of curiousity, anyone know if the 3.8l has the same issue with the crank bolt that the 3.5l had? Should I look at replacing it during the timing belt install?
Yes and yes. Just not as often because most got replaced. My 2003 had the long bolt to my surprise. Also went 150k on the original water pump and belt with no issues.
