Affordable portable shower, seen this one?

Opened the local paper and the sports academy ad fell in to my lap and I see this.
Anyone familiar with this one?
Maybe it's worth trying at that price?

Well... that kinda sucks for personal hygiene lol
But as a portable car wash/ gear rinsing... just maybe.

$90 is steep for what may essentially be a bucket, pump, and nozzle. You can make a decent one for much less money, and it can be pressurized with your air compressor or bike pump. And besides, if you've got pressurized water already, whaddya need that kit for? just attach hose to the campground spigot or whatever. And not likely you'll find pressurized hot water unless you are at home and rig something from your hot water heater, and with this you can't even dump in hot water from another source, like you can with 12v powered bilge pumps or whatever.

I own one and love it. Same as others, put it in the sun and it will heat the water up nicely. I use at the beach and camping all the time. A quick shower or wash off fishing gear etc. It doesn't store much water so it is more for a 1-2 day trip at most.

We warm the water up with the Coleman stove.

I want to test out one of these in the near future.

I had a Zodi like that, and truth be told it wasn't much different than what you already have. You still have to recirculate the water to heat it, so I'm not sure that boiling a gallon or so and dumping it in with another gallon is that much slower than heating two gallons with a Zodi. I sold the Zodi and went back to shower bags and a pump system. The Zodi took up took much space for a one trick device. I'd go EcoTemp if I wanted that much stuff again.

Solar shower will do the trick.
If there's no sun you can simply boil some water like Kevin108 does.
Did that a few weeks back when our heater broke.

I looked into one of these. The main thing that turned me off was that you HAVE to fill it with a hose or it won't be pressurized. That means you fill it at home and when you're out of water its useless. If you want something kinda similar in function but more compact you can look at the Nemo shower which can be refilled anywhere.

They do sell an portable refill kit (pretty much a bladder and an adapter that connects to a pump). Watchrd my buddy refill it and it looked straight forward. Those rinse kits are everywhere in San Diego.

Please post a review when/if you get it!

I'm also interested in something like this. In fact, I'd prefer to run my own pump and just connect a water input line to the heater.

One of the draw back of the zodi, is that if the heater is on, you have to keep the water runing, or it will get to the boiling point and you will burn your self. And unsless mine is not working well, only one pass thrue the system is not enough to get warm water (I'm not even saying hot, but warn or even medium warm). You have to recirculate in a bucket.

Now, zodi also offer a double burner system with two 1 pounder propane tank. This could work better for continious water flow.

That was my experience too. But not too hard to manage, you just recycle for a while. But at the end of the day it was just as easy to use a pot on a stove and a shower bag, or in say a Spectre-like water can with a pump. Heat the water by solar, or by a stove, or drop hot rocks in, or not at all. The Zodi was yet another single purpose thing that just kept getting left at home until we realized we never needed it, and could use other stuff that was more versatile.

Well, even though I have the Basecamp Aquacube made by Mr. Heater, and it has been nice using it and doing the dishes (it has a sink faucet too) I had delivered a Big Kahuna Shower 4.7 gallon model Sunday.

The Aquacube is nice, but many have had problems with it (made in China) so I want something reliable, made in the USA, and it is a small three person run company.
There is a HUGE markup for sure on the price as they are simple parts (pet food container) but the powerful pump is German made, and I tested it out yesterday on my front deck.
They do make a heating element for it, but it requires 800 watts of AC power.
I am just going to heat up a pot of water on the camp stove, and mix it in with the creek water.

To power it, I will be using my new Goal Zero Yeti 400 Lithium I picked up awhile back.
