2007 FG Transmission and Tranfer Case Lube

Hi All,
What are folks using for Lube in their Transmissions and Transfer cases? I discovered that my transmission gear oil is migrating into my transfer Case. The cause may be a faulty seal but I replaced the output ******** final bearing/seal last year so not sure what is going on.

In the meantime I need to top off my transmission. The manual calls for straight GL-3 80 or 90 weight.

It also mentions for "long period of high-speed driving" use 30 or 40 wt. has anyone ever tried that?

The only thing I can find locally here in Bend is 80w-90.

I've just used 80-90 weight. It's just a gear box, nothing that complicated going on...

More important to drain out the gunk and fill it to the right level, imho.

What's more important is the oil you use in the rear diff.
If you use the wrong stuff then the LSD will act very irrationally.
