creative wiring info looked for

Ok, so this is photo releated, but Im more looking for SOMEBODY in the wider world who may have a clue, skill and ... well, know their ******** from a hole in the ground (unlike yours truly) in regards to wires and ..stuff.

On my Nikon gear I use a shutter release cable that runs from my body to a rife stock I use... it is the weakest link.. Nikon doesnt make a cable, the only ones I find are aftermarket and between them and the poorly designed mounting location, I go through one every few months, and occasionally damage my camera.. (think being in Africa and taking 4 days off to visit JoBerg to get both bodies fixed..while thanking the stars that your friend whom you are staying with in JoBerg is the mother in law to Nikon South Africa).

Im wondering if somebody out there can take a standard cable and "ruggedize" it? The weakest link is the Pin connector. If it just came out straight and was heavy duty flexy thingy.... (gods I live for technical jargon) I suspect that would solve more than a few issues.

Many thanks! and if there is another forum that I over looked, let me know :) Josh

I'm not sure what you're seeking. But if you want some strain relief, build up a sort of flange at the end with Suguru.
