My guy Nick and I headed out from Colorado on Friday, and spent the first night in Medicine Bow Nat'l Forest. On Saturday, we met up with the rest of the gang in the Bridger Nat'l Forest outside of Pinedale, WY. We stayed there until Monday, when we headed to Jackson, WY. After a stop for pretzels and beer at a local brewery, we made the stroll into Idaho, and set up in Targhee Nat'l Forest back on the WY side outside of Alta, WY.
Tuesday morning, everyone went their separate ways, and I headed down Hwy 191 into Utah solo. I spent Tuesday night in Ashley Nat'l Forest with my dog, a few doe whitetails, some coyotes, some Lost Dog Street Band, and the Jack Reacher: Killing Floor audiobook. Wednesday, I headed back into western Colorado and explored the Dinosaur Nat'l Monument before finally heading home.

Couldn't ask for a better trip partner. She's the only dog I've ever had or seen that will be out cold while I'm bouncing down rock shelves and technical terrain. Once we get to camp, she just runs around in a quarter mile radius and entertains herself. She even sits at the rear hatch when she's worn out at night so I can let her onto the sleeping platform.

The video didn't go the entire way for me but I do agree about dog people. Some of my best memories are from the dogs we had around 55 years ago and a few since then. Open the truck door and the dog was charging off doing a dog adventure then return to camp to be fed and then invade your sleeping bag. I've said before that I would rather spend time with a dog VS some people or as somebodys tag line is, the best thing I like about some people is their dog.
