Do you think the passage between the cab and the cell is important?
I'm indecisive of doing so becouse in my truck the passage would be small.
What are the pros and cons?

I did one on my truck. Its nice to have but we usually go around the outside anyway.

A few benefits.
-can climb into the back without going outside. Nice for late night stops, foul weather etc.
-co driver can get in back to grab drinks/snacks.

Drawbacks.
-cabs are not well insulated.
-break in can get into living space from cab.
-loose some wall space for opening

Passage to new or existing?

Perhaps you could design your cell in such a way that a passage can be added later if you decide it is necessary. My plan is to do this and then count the times that I wish I could crawl through to the cell. I'm hoping it's a low number.

It was an essential requirement for us. Our access is always commented on favorably by owners of similar vehicles. As for insulation and security, an insulated door fixes that.
