Just installed a new compressor & clutch from Rock Auto. There was no core. Is the old one scrap or worth holding on to? I called a rebuilder in Texas and they want $295 to rebuild it. I'm thinking it is heading to the recycle bin unless the stock compressor is worth rebuilding & holding for when my Rock Auto unit craps out. Looks like OEM compressors are all close to $600. Are these things like the driveshafts where nothing beats the original equipment?
