K1500 Burb ideal tire wheel combo

I can't believe I'm that guy who posts another tire size thread yet here I am.

Stats: 96 Suburban 1500
3.73 gear
Current tire on zero lift 245-75 r16

The plan is to go to a 33" ish x 10.50 ish tire with only enough lift to accommodate the tire itself.
Why? Honestly, I like the look of a mildly lifted full size. Also, I'm bottoming out on fire roads and I'd like to alleviate that a bit.

So? What's the question?

What wheel size, tire combo would be best and most cost effective for what I want 16? 17? 18?
Is there a go to size that most people find effective? On jeep Cherokees that would be a 31x10.50. I know Cherokees but not burbs. LoL

Thanks in advance.

I use 285/75 16 on my 97. I used the original wheels for a long time, but a couple years ago, got some procomp 16x8 wheels, much better. Just needed a little cranking the torsion keys. Added a little 1 in block on back.
Right now 17 in tires have become a little cheaper, so it might be a good research if it pays to buy some 17 in wheels, and 285/70 17 tires (I use these on a 2001 silverado).

You had the factory aluminum sawblade looking wheels? I thought they were too narrow?

Yes, those I used for a long time. I used 265/75 most of the time, and then 285/75, with neither did I have any problem.

I found a good deal of GM 17in wheels a while ago (these are 7 1/2 in, that is 1/2 in wider than the earlier version 16in) bought them and kept them stored, and recently found a better deal on 17in tires, so bought some 285/70 17 for the Silverado. You can actually see the old rims in the bed.
