I went through this as well last year when my jeep had run its course. What I've learned with buying cars is that the packages mean jack crap unless there's something in them that you can't live without. What I would recommend with the new tacoma is getting an SR5 with 4x4 and the upgraded sound system then add on whatever stuff you want from there. The TRD OR and Sport suspensions are definitely just OK. With the money you could save by not buying one you could get a decent to moderate suspension set up for your SR. Look at the ARB taco, they bought a base model SR5 and then tricked it out way better than the factory ever could. That being said, I bought a TRD Off road in order to have the upgraded software for the 4x4 which I use actually pretty regularly with the sand at the beach and the mountain climbs that I do for my various hobbies (read: addictions ha). Its all about picking what you NEED and then combining that with what you want then finding that truck. It exists 99% of the time, even if not from the factory. You won't be disappointed with a new taco, I sure love mine.
