Hi:

Just a short trip report for a little 3-4 week tour we are doing from Parc de Mauricie, Quebec, up to Kegasku, and then across by ferry to gaspe, and then down to NB, and possibly Nova Scotia.

Trying to do as much off grid camping as possible, but a lot will be campgrounds.

First stop was Parc de Mauricie which is easy to get to, access, etc. Since it is Canada's 150 year anniversary, all National park access fees are waived. Camping fees are not.

We stayed two nights. Incredible views, glacial lakes, edge of Canadian shield, fantastic variety of geological rock formations.

We stopped in Quebec, but did not camp. Next day was drive to Baie-Comeau via Tadoussac. Normally we spend time in Tadoussac, and don't go further. This time sadly we did not stop. Photo from ferry crossing.

Next stop was Manic 5 power dam. Camping at the Belvedere, internet at the visitors center, and lots of woods roads, forest roads, etc. About 240 kms from Baie-Comeau north on ok paved road. N.B. DO not take first road when coming from Quebec to go to Manic 5. It is a gravel road used mainly and mostly by trucks that prefer it to oly be trucks. If you go through town you can take the paved road all the way. There is lots of dirt and gravel and off-road, on the way and once you get to Manic 5. The pavement ends at Manic 5 and you can drive 345 kms to Fermont, and on to Churchill Falls Labrador on gravel.

As you can see our camping spot is pretty remote, and no connections.

Hs been overcast and rained a lot yesterday. Solar system working well, batteries were at 89% this morning, will see what they go up to today. We needed to bring our own water to Manic 5 as there are no services.
More soon.
