Spare tire weight...

Can anyone give me an approximate weight for an 30.5" AT tire on a steel wheel? Just ballpark.

I want to order a 2" hitch swing away adapter and mount a tire carrier and two bike rack or gas cans to it... Want to make sure I won't over do it. It has a 300# limit.

Thanks.

That's 85lbs a pop.

Somewhat off-topic, but why run steel wheels? Most vehicles' OEM wheels should be in the 20-25lb range, and that extra unsprung weight will make a significant difference. And OEM wheels tend to be easy to find as people off-load them on the cheap.

awesome, thanks! guess I coulda looked that up. oh well.

I drive an older Nissan 720. Wheels are very basic white oem steel, i like the look. alloy just seem to flashy for this rig and my taste. I'll probably upgrade to an 8" wheel, over the stock 7", when I finish building this. Unless i can find an alloy wheel that looks similar to my stock steel, but not likely...

thanks for your input.
