Alright. Wet sanded the clear coat with 600 grit, then 1200, 2000, 3000, then a medium compound using a 10" orbital buffer. Then a light compound. Installed the Bushwhacker fender flares and put the rear bumper back on. Also, I wet sanded the taillights with 600 grit before clear coating them. This is the point that I reached just today. I will be starting on the camper shell this week.

Looks amazing for rattle cans! Makes me with I had spent a little more time going with that many layers, and clear, on mine!

The number of coats I put down may have been excessive, but I didn't want to chance it. And at around $15-20 per coat I didn't see much reason not to. I think the main thing that gave it the great result was wet sanding it before I started putting the clear coat on. I instantly noticed the silver paint start to visually pop out as I was wet sanding. And it evened out the typical spray can streak appearance. I probably would have wet sanded the clear coat with the 600 and 1200 grit a bit more if I had to do it again. Took a good bit of compounding to get it to shine.

was the paint you used just regular old spray paint or the "mixed to match chystler paint code" stuff from auto parts stores

Set the shell onto the bed. Still need to smooth out the fiberglass and paint it, but at least I can get it usable for camping.

Custom tongue box came in. Got the full size spare sitting there, but not mounted yet.
