It's one of those things where you think "this is the perfect Amazon candidate". Not the case.

I'd like something that can fit RAM Mount 1" balls or at least be modified to do so. Quiet. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Most car fans are noisy and don't actually seem to move a lot of air...I've had good luck using computer case fans. They are 12V, and you can purchase really quiet, really efficient ones for not a lot of $. A lot of the time they will even have wires for 3 speeds that you can wire a switch to. I'd find one you like the specs of and then graft a ram mount ball onto it.

Thanks for the ideas. Going to give the computer fan a go. Adds some character. All the off-the-shelf fans look really cheap, noisy, and consumerish

Thinking to epoxy the ram mount and the switch to the bottom edge

If you search for unbranded 1 inch ball mounts you can save a bit of money. I like the RAM products, but some of their prices are kinda crazy for what you get. I have a mix of the branded/unbranded and they all work fine together. https://www.ebay.com/sch/GPS-Holder...nd=Unbranded%2FGeneric&_trksid=p2045573.m1684
