    Default North Conway Idea's?

I'm going to be in North Conway for a couple days next month and wondered if there were any area's nearby where I could get the tires a little dirty on the Power Wagon and see some foliage. Not looking for anything hardcore (ie.no damage) but using 4wd is a plus. I have a Maine Delorme Gazetteer but not a New Hampshire one. Thanks in advance.

Look up the Forest Road Conditions, a lot of nice dirt roads.

your not missing much on the nh delorme class 6 roads are purposely left off the map.. not much of a 4x4 expedition, but, check out redstone (behind the fire station) its a defunct granite quarry. most (if not all) roads in are blocked now from scrappers stealing metal.. but a total cool piece of history that you should check out.. if nothing else to walk around and see all the rusty crusty abandonment.. best pic i could find from my archive...

I live in North Conway and can they'll you there isn't much for off roading in this area. You should check out exploringnh.com they are active in New Hampshire doing frequent runs on class six roads. You might get lucky and have a run when you are here. Red stone quarry is cool but nowhere to get off of the pavement. Worth walking around if you are into abandoned quarry's.

Sandwich notch road is where I would head. It would be easy to make a nice day trip/ loop out of it. If you want we could meet for a beer, I'll lend you my NH gazetteer and point out a few possible nice loops.
