4.56 vs 4.88 - 04 Tundra on 33s

I've read it enough;

33s = 4.56
35s = 4.88

I'm not interested in the next online gear calculator, I'm interested in what real people are seeing on their rigs.

04 Tundra 4x4, owned since new, 3.91 w LSD with icon 2.5 front/camburg uni upper and the 3 leaf AAL and icon 2.5 resis in the rear. Recently installed Doug thorley headers (love them) and have a spintech muffler replacement with stock piping.

I am looking for more power without the supercharger. Besides a pulley and electric fan conversion I don't know where else to turn.

I want a rear locker, might as well do gears while I'm in there.

Question is: could members with 285/75/16 tires please advise on rpms ar 65 mph. actual speedo read out and actual speed if you have it?

Same for 4.88s. I only want to regear once. If the 4th gear rpm jump between the 2 is negligible I will do 4.88. Otherwise follow dogma and do 4.56.

There is a chance I may run 35s in the future however I have a lot of read to burn down on my cooper AT3s and the 7.5 front diff gives me heartburn. Won't know for a while but thought I would ask.

Thanks all, killed build threads, keep them coming!

2002 Avalanche with 35s, 4.88s and Doug Thorley headers. At 65mph I'm taching 2200. I had 33s with 4.10s. If you are even remotely thinking of 35s I would just go ahead go with the 4.88s. Interestingly, on my Av the calculators all recommended 4.56s with the 35s, but I knew I was adding a RTT and a bunch of weight so I wanted the extra torque/power down low.
