M101A3 axle length question

So looking to order a Drexel axle for my M101A3 trailer so that I can switch to a 5on5 hub with electric brakes to tow behind my Jeep JKU with matching wheels and tires so I can get away with a level ride height, matching look, and one spare for the setup.

The question is how long should I go for hub to hub measurement? I have seen some people run 68” axles with 2” spacers to clear the trailer hub grease caps. But the wheels I am running have a 3.01 centerbore so they should clear the normal Drexel hub grease caps. I have Fuel Krank 20x9” wheels with a 5” backspace and 3.075” centerbore. Wrapped in Nitto M/T 295/60r20 which are about 12” wide.

I was thinking 73” for hub face, thoughts?

Ultimately you want at least 1" of clearance between your sidewall and the frame/tub. Measure from the mounting face of the wheel to the inside if the tire sidewall, then add at least 1". Multiply that by 2 and add your tub width.

Yeah I factored in 2” spacing from the tub to allow for more flexing and spacing without making it stick too far out. So I can up with Tub+Spacing+wheel diameter-backspacing. 55”+(2”+2”)+(12”+12”)-(5”+5”)=73”
