Maybe this is in a FAQ.. "Adventure and Events Reports" / "Overland Trip Reports"

Hi,

Please forgive me if this has been covered...

I get how "Events" fit in this forum, but is the main difference between Adventure and Overland trips the duration?

Tks.

Hehe, that's a LOT harder in North America :)

But yeah, I found in the forum tag lines, which I think is a fair separation. Anyways, was mostly just curious. Not anxious to start any bike-shedding over it!

Overland Trip Reports
Completed adventures and expeditions lasting more than one week.

Adventure and Event Reports
Reports from completed trips and events lasting less than one week.

A week in duration is a good separator between a camping trip and something more extended.
By a week's end you'll be out of food you bought at the departure point, and likely out of clean clothes as well, and likely in a need of a bath.
Departure from your normal life habits is the beginning of an expedition.

On the other hand, one day in Utah for most people from the neighboring states falls under this definition...

I suppose it depends on how many lakes or creeks you can jump into. I used to come back after a week with a grocery bag of dirty clothes. OK,I was running out of beer...
