1995 f350 Extended cab short bed Adventure build

Hey y'all my names Zach and this is my truck that I hope to slowly turn into a pretty serious adventure vehicle. Its a 95 f350 extended cab short bed with a 7.3l diesel and zf5 tranny. Bought it with 103k and now sitting right at 107k. Right bow the truck is pretty much bone stock. It got some fender flares that wont look good until I get some bigger tires and upgraded suspension on it, a tune that stuck on tow/economy setting and a broken airbag system that for somer reason is on the rear and front axle.
Some of my future plans for it are a total suspension make-over (it rides like a brick and bounces like nobodies business), front and rear bumpers and some frame work needs to be done. Bare with me! This is going to be a slow build. It seems I always have enough money but no time or too much time and no money. Additionally, I am currently working on building a four-wheel camper style pop up camper for it. Ill post the tread for that here:

I've never seen an extra cab short bed before. Looks like a clean truck. 107K is nothing.

I used to have a '96 F250 with 7.5 and ZF5 in a supercab short bed, but I'll agree that I don't recall ever seeing a diesel F350 version. That's a great starting point Zach!

Nice looking truck! Not a big flare fan but it looks good in every other way to me. That should be a great camper hauler. I have it's little brother, SCSB 96' F150.

Just an FYI Ford never made a short box F350 in the OBS (9th) generation. It's more than likely an HD F250 that has been D60 swapped (can't quite tell in your pictures, but I think it has a solid front axle?) and badges changed. If you search the VIN # I'll bet a dollar it comes up F250 :ylsmoke: Not a big deal, as the only differences between the HD F250 & single rear wheel F350s of that era were the front axles (D50 twin traction beam (ttb) on the F250 versus solid D60 on the F350) and rear suspension blocks (2" on F250 vs 4" on F350). Same drive train options, same rear 10.25" full float Sterling axle, same 0.25" thick frame material. So a D60 swapped F250 is effectively an F350.

A well reviewed front suspension upgrade is a reverse shackle kit (puts shackles to the rear instead of the front), from Sky or PMF. Can also use SuperDuty springs for a little better ride (longer). That said, if the D60 swap in your truck was done by reusing the original F250 springs, yikes. TTB leaf springs are much stiffer than factory F350 springs to accommodate the leverage a TTB has over the spring. Simply swapping to stock F350 springs would be an improvement.

Absolutely fantastic looking truck!!! What a great starting point; you've got the exact setup I wish I had! I am definitely looking forward to watching your build!

Beautiful truck optioned out perfectly from the factory. That combo is rare and really cool. Can’t wait to see the build up continue ????

I'm certainly biased but that truck would love a used Northstar popup on it after you get everything ironed out.
