Weather broke and I finally got SEAT BELTS!! now I can haul minions safely!!

Tomorrow I'm picking up the roof tin and gonna try and get it painted so I can get the sub frame bolted on and the roof rack runners installed...

Then I might peel a roof...dunno...

Well folks today was the day turns out all my measuring and research and looking and figuring and being precise workout flawlessly I have to bend the edges over so that the gasket will work but I measured cut did a little bit of trimming did not get into any of the superstructure of the van walls. My framed top dropped in on its subframe plenty of room for all of the lifting mechanisms and keep the canvas tucked in out of Harm's Way!!! feeling pretty good!!!

I almost broke down and bought a high-top that's broken in 3 or 4 pieces for my EB; glad I didn't yet. When you're through beta testing remember me, I'm first in line for plans!

Spent a productive rainy day with the twins!!!

Got the roof frame caulked then bolted down..pulled the roof tin off and got it bent on the sides and the last of the roof tin bolts sealed and installed....ran into a snag on my roof lift design so I've gotta do more research and design work...

So...

We cleaned everything up...got the carpet down..(waiting to put trim in till after all the power has been run for kids Usb ports..)

THEN...we decided to go ahead and build the benches..the passenger side has a slide platform (side braces need installed) it will get large port holes cut in the top so you can access, the inside for a HUGE storage area....the driver side will have a hinged lid and will be mechanical space...battery solar water tool storage...

Passenger side will have the fridge..

Part of why I didn't go with longer benches is so we can still haul animal crates in the back as we foster mini pigs and I often haul them too and fro....and we can load all our camping bins and kitchen in the back untill we get the rear kitchen box..

Well that's been a fun 48 hours!! My truck sold and I wasn't ready!!!

Had to figure out a way to secure the top so I could daily drive her!! Also the seals are being shipped so I ended up GORILLA TAPING the edges so it would be weather tight!! (How hill billy!!)

But I did get it sealed up and the profile is in its final position..gotta get some more material and the linear actuators to lift the top..but I've got it figured out and I'm ready!!

Ordered the backup camera with full time monitor, radio, usb plugs and big switch gear for all the lights..

The kids LOVE how much room there is and keep teasing about Windows...so I put in a Lexan sky light in preparation for the removable sunroof this spring...looks great and they will love not feeling like cave people!!

Bummer man, at least the new rig is looking pretty solid!

Any trips planned this spring, I need to not be on-call for once and make it out.

Well the weather has kept business slow...so while waiting on the brown truck I got some bigger ticket things off my list!!

Got my coms programmed and cloned....even programmed some CB channels in AM to see how well they work...I did get the antennas mounted...HAM on the driver side fender..CB is on driver back bumper (and 20 foot of cable BARELY gets to her booty!) Ham base is driver dash with remote mounted on the right side where both driver and passenger can grab the Mic...(switch below is for HAM antenna and CB antenna)

Fridge socket is pulled and working...solar panels were mocked up and will get installed soon!!

Today Santa Brown delivered a big care package!!!

Radio is in..boy do I need good speakers and a small amp to drive a set of sub woofers....so the surround sound at camp and travels is perfect!!

Got the backup camera installed so its on when I'm driving (no back windows)..screen is marginal...might end up putting it on the radio with the ability to use any time!!

Also finished up the last of the dash lights to LED conversion...WICKED bright!!

OH!! Sunday I was supposed to do a transport for our foster pig....pull out of the driveway and wipers quit working...(big nasty snow) get down to parts store...check fuse..its fine...check wipers...they move free and I can hear the motor spinning....off to YOUTUBE and get it all taken apart....find it.....its a clip....and after hunting it down.....its DEALER ONLY..ON SUNDAY..so I have to cancel trip....Monday morning first thing...ford dealer had part in stock!! $15...
