Looks great. I managed to get one of the last kits. Mine went on an 04 Rubicon. I swapped in a 6.0 LS2 out of a wrecked G8. I also used the 6L80E transmission from the same car. After the initial trial and error phase it's dialed in and is a good combination. I drove from Kansas to Moab and got 19.3 mpg going 75 down I70. I had a 20 gallon automatic fuel transfer tank made that extends the range way past my bladder. Good seeing another Brute that will get off pavement.

I have been thinking about putting an LS into my wifes FJ40 instead of the 4bt i just rebuilt. She doesn't want a diesel
My fuel tank is a 24 gal genright, range could be about 600 miles. If I had been able to buy a complete kit I would have started with a plain wrangler since the only thing I kept has been the transfer case and I would have preferred a 2 spd atlas. Maybe next year after the baja 4000 rally is out of the way I will change it out.

I can understand her not wanting a diesel, but I love diesels! I've done a few diesel swaps to include (3) 4bt's. With proper gearing, fluid filled mounts and sound insulation, they're great engines. I'm really excited to hear about your impressions about the R2.8.

Compared to the 4bt the R2.8 is very quiet. Looks like my 4bt, 250HP /400lbs torque motor needs to find a new home!
