Has anyone converted a Honda 2000 gen. to propane?
What kit did you use?
I have looked at a bunch of youtube videos, but many are not that informative.
There seem to be a number of different brands and options,bi fuel, tri fuel.
I just want to run propane.

One of the kit makers is US Carburetion, one video says it took a month to get the kit and another guy got the wrong hose in the kit.
Thanks.

Yet they sure seem the best, support lots of models, from my having read hundreds of threads.

But for that one model there are other vendors.

Hutch Mountain looks good too.

Buy with a CC with good protection

Are you looking to maintain the ability to run it on gas? I opted to go full propane, used mostly for my camper, so have the propane source already. Diesel truck, so don't carry gas.

This is a good full on conversion kit http://www.genconnexdirect.net/honda_generator_propane_kits.htm Replaces the fuel tank so it's nice and tidy. I understand with the tri-fuel conversion, the carb does need to have gas in it to block off some of the fuel passages. If not run on gas somewhat frequently, the old gas (assuming the crappy fuel these days) will gum everything up and you'll have issues, even running on propane.

Thanks for the reply,I will check that brand out.
Full propane seems to be an easier install, the run times are good,I always have propane for BBQ and my emergency propane heater.I don't want to deal with old gas either.
Right now my tentative set up will be an Aluminess rear bumper tire carrier with one of their boxes for the gen and a rack on top of the box for a small propane tank.Kind of like this but with propane instead of gas.

Yeah, they aren't the cheapest, but because it replaces the fuel tank, it's all in the same foot print. The tri-fuel adapters have the big regulator that hangs off the side that really increases the width. That was one of the deciding factors for me, I carry it in the side storage box of our camper. Fits in there perfectly with room for the hoses, regulator, etc.
