My uncle is a very talented and artistic metalsmith, mostly making high end patina copper bar-tops, range-hoods, and patina zinc accessories.

He wanted a camper the likes of which he had not seen on the market, but which fit his particular needs and preferences, so he (patented) and built the Compac Camper. This thing is streamlined, has tons of storage, fits into a regular 8' truck bed, and allows him and his wife to sleep out under the stars in great comfort (a roof can be fitted though). Made of stainless steel, this sucker isn't the lightest or the cheapest, which is why he's mostly decided against making it commercially (though he could probably be persuaded if you were interested). I think what he's built is awesome, but he's too bashful to show it off.
Here it is all folded up (and dirty from sitting under the trees for too long)
Loads of storage under the bed platform
And the top fold out to reveal the bed and additional storage. It's got onboard water, shower, and propane. That mattress is 6" thick memory foam (with tree dander messing it up in these picts)
