Great looking 4Runner, I love that body style. You could always get a JDM diesel to put in it- overseas the Surf model came with a diesel option.

Thank you all! It's interesting how the 3VZE is viewed. It seems they are either bulletproof or time bombs, with not much in between. Here's hoping this one leans more toward the former than the latter! :D

A couple notes:
-Glad to hear the consensus that there are a few MPG's left in it. Now if I could just remember to order the sensor...
-The (PO installed (I've used some choice words in their direction)) fender flares do hide the only noteworthy rust on this truck, in the rear doglegs. On the project list for after winter.
-The e-brake works fine, the fluid was slightly low. I'm an idiot. THe pedal has good pressure so I don't think there is a leak, but I'll be keeping an eye on it. In the meantime, no more warning light!

Also a few more pictures recently:

As usual, I am incapable of taking a direct route to anywhere. Took these on my way home from a company holiday party in Manchester, NH today.

And finally, re-fueled with the ideal cold weather comfort food - a Green Mountain Coffee Maple Supreme and poutine.

Resized_20171020_164152.jpg That 4Runner looks familiar! I wish mine had that good of paint though. I have the manual with a 22RE (and A/C). I had to look around a while to find one with a 4 cylinder and this one had a hole in the timing chain cover when I bought it. After taking the head off and fixing that problem it has been great (albeit a little underpowered...). Great machines.

Thank you all for the compliments!

Ha! Nice looking truck :sombrero: I've been wondering how it would look without the side stripes, so this is helpful!

Awesome snow pictures! Cool to see some paddling shots in those conditions.

Thanks! Paddling in heavy snow was amazing. Everything is so quiet and still.

The tailgate is so strange to me; I can't figure out the reasoning for having that setup instead of a normal hatch in an SUV with a solid roof. On one hand having a tailgate is kind of nice but, on the other, having to roll down the power rear window all the way in order to open it is pretty annoying - especially with how commonly those windows seem to have problems. Very mixed feelings on that feature haha.
