How light can you get a pop up roof?

I have fiberglass pop top roof on my van that probably weighs a good 100lbs, if not a bit more, which wouldnt be terrible but with a rack and other things I could easily see adding another 100 lbs to that.

I've been thinking about using my current top as a kind of mold for a new one, it might be a project for next summer, but i'm trying to see if its even worth it.

what kind of weight do you think is possible from a 9 1/2x 4ft roof? and what kind of construction methods would be the most weight conscious?

Can you add pneumatic lift struts? I have solar panels and Maxtrax on my roof, it went from a struggle to lift to a one handed job. I have a FWC, there is a "lift strut thingy" thread for ideas.

I built a 10'x5'ish roof of polycarbonate twinwall, fiberglass, and aluminum tube. It weighs about 35lb and is strong enough to walk on. Pict in my built thread via my signature
