    Default Maine dispersed camping

All, what are the rules for dispersed overland camping in NW Maine, around Eustis, Flagstaff Lake, pages 39/40ish in the Gazetteer? Delorme shows a lot of "Primitive" campsites in the area, what about fire permits? Do you need to stop in a designated area or can you just find a spot at the end of a trail?

Is this for winter or now? Most of the full designated campsites don't require a fire permit, but the "fire permit only" ones which have the "hollowed out" symbol, they require you to call ahead of time and get a fire permit. Look at the index inside the front cover of the DeLorme and that will distinguish them.
