Removable winch mount in bumper?

I have a front mounted receiver that I mount my winch/cradle, a little loss of front clearances however it has worked out fine for me and I don't have to haul a heavy winch around all the time when I will not be needing it. My F150 is my daily driver.

I built a front bumper with a 2" receiver tube integrated in. Ran 00 welding cable front-rear with the big Anderson connectors at each bumper. Now my Warn 9500HS on a carrier with 2" stinger can be mounted front and rear. We store it in the truck bed when not in use.View attachment 436131View attachment 436132View attachment 436133

I did the same thing with a Suburban of mine. Kept the winch locked down in the third (storage) receiver in the back, deterring theft, keeping it out of the weather, and maximizing my approach and departure angles, yet allowing me to winch from either end, using just one winch. I never needed to use it to self-recover, but I did pull it out a time or two to recover other vehicles...
