Jeep J8 Front Bumper project

I like the look of the J8 front end. I acquired a J8 front bumper and modified it for a winch fairlead and put AEV light mounts with 6" KC lights. The KC lights H416 harness to hook up to the fog light harness is not working with these lights. Seems the canbus system doesn't send enough power. I am working on wiring in a capacitor. Paint or powder coating will be done soon and once I get the pump relocation bracket I can get the winch plate in there.

I like the retro styling a lot. The factor that would keep this retor style from catching on is finding J8 parts in the US. Dependent on how hard to get, i.e. expensive, J8 parts are, this look could be easily achieved with some 4"x4" and and a plasma, or cutoff wheel, though. Still love the look!

I have made a similar bumper twice, just put one on the current JKU. I use an AEV winch plate and a 6" piece of channel aluminum. Drill appropriate holes and bolt on.

Thanks. I'm loving the look more and more. I have the winch plate and plan to do that install with the pump relocation bracket. Just got it in and waiting for all these noreasters to go away. lol.
