Camp Plates

Found these on Ebay for about $30 shipped for a set of 8. Some form of Melmac(Envoy 100) and made in the USA. These used to be standard issue for hospital cafeterias. Can't kill em and easy cleanup and storage.

I got on the hunt for something like this after 2 sets of glass plates were ground up on my last trip. Too much road vibration and bouncing around. Also, later found a set of matching bowls.

I could've gotten the big cafeteria trays but these store in a much smaller space.:chef:

Those look fine for keeping the stuff contained. I use a blue enameled plate with a paper plate over it so I don't have to wash the plate.

Nice - we like reusable gear for our camping, and find some neat things at flea markets / antique malls. Other fun stuff is former restaurant gear, or even better railway dining cars.

I'm with this. When I camp, I don't go to do dishes. if I can use disposable, I will. Paper plates with rigid holders. No clean up.

I like those. They would go well with the flimsier paper plates when a heavy duty plate is not called for. I also like the washable cafeteria plates in the first post and will have to get a few for the camp kit.

I picked up some of the melamine divided plates in a thrift store brand new in the original packages for $2/pr a few months ago. They were originally sold by Sears. I got two turquoise and two light green ones. They are great for camping and clean real easily.
I like those paper plate holders - they would be great for less fancy dinners.

Metal plates suck heat making my meals cold.
I like to minimize the garbage i generate especially when camping in no fire areas like death valley.
I go with corian plates but sure like the OP plates!

Metal trays were the norm in the military and they did tend to make the food cold faster. Maybe that is why I ate so fast.
I have no issue with the metal plates sucking out the heat as I heat them before using them. TaDa

I use the blue plates too, that is a good idea on the paper plate, one less item to wash :)
