Cab bonding to bed pontificating please

ANY flex is going to destroy / distort whatever method you use to try to join the cab and bed. Get the flange / donut / bellows.

ProTip - get some of that clear vehicle wrap / stone protection plastic and line the back of the cab where the gap-filling device will be, it will help keep your cab paint from being sanded off over time as dust / grit gets between cab and cap.

sidebar: is there a "go-to" for the boot & hardware? when I looked into this for my first pickup (circa 1973 - Ford F-100 w/ Jewel cap complete with jumping fish & wood grain decals) the answer was "go to an auto upholstery shop and have them make it from naugahyde". of course I never did; needed than $$$ for my PBRs.
