1964 Land Rover Series IIa SOLD

I purchased this about a year ago from a forum member for my wife. While she really likes it she is not comfortable driving it because of the manual gear box & steering "too much going on", She wants me to build up a 109 with an automatic :sombrero:
The only thing I added was factory seat belts/shoulder harness & car cover ( it was for a 90D) and replaced gear shift lever.
Below is the original listing & pictures

-2.25 petrol with weber carb
-Body is straight and clean,no dents or evidence of prior damage.
-235/85 r 16, good rubber all round
-Solid chassis and bulkhead. No rust issues/
-Very nice paint that prior owner had done, the finish is smooth and shiney but they also painted over the cappings. Due to the quality of the finish it has been left that way.
-Deluxe trim low backs from Exmoor on sliders, Heavy floor mats and trans tunnel cover.
-Waxoyled last November.
-Superwinch hub locks on front-I think it has SIII hubs as well.
-All lights work
-Leaking is not a problem, the occasional drop or two after it's been running hard but nothing past that (and yes it has all fluids).

Issues? The knob on the D/S vent is broken off, vent still opens. Odometer does not work and the speedometer is optomistic, The prior owner had the rear crossmember repaired ,it's not correct but the work is very good and looks very similar to the MOD rear x

Hey Pete, Sorry it didn't work out for you and your wife. The double clutching and total lack of power steering can be a but much. Good luck with the 109 build. A buddy of mine is just about finished with a V8, A/T P/S and A/C SIII 109 that is coming together very nicely.

I was the prior owner of this SIIa so if anyone has any questions that Pete can't answer for you feel free to shoot me a message. I miss that old goat.

Prior to Matt, I had taken it in on trade towards a 90. I didn't do anything much with it, but Matt spruced her up nicely. The fella I got it from was not a Rover guy prior, but had been a car guy and did all the motor, tranny, etc and had it running pretty sweet- and did the paint and stored it inside- always. Very nice solid Series with tons of life and memories waiting for a new driver.
