$8000 starting bid, 22 ft long, 143,000 miles
From auction:
1967 Hanomag, predecessor to the Unimog. This former German radio Truck was made into an expedition RV some time during the 1980's and it was taken around the world, traveled on every continent of the world and in every country. We bought it six years ago, brought it from British Columbia to its current location here in South Carolina. I would never sell this truck but my husband has cancer and I cannot keep up with it and our boat too. It is geared low to cross rivers and go up steep inclines. The wood inside is reminiscent of a boat and feels like what a gypsy wagon might feel like. It has 5'10” headroom in the center of the truck and sleeps 2 comfortably. The Engine sounds good and she starts readily. The air brakes come up after starting but this is a heavy truck so you need to know what you are doing when you drive her. We have also had an on again off again air leak in the system but they hold while the truck is running. This leak could be due to debris in the air tank. It has a DC water system and two burner propane stove. It also has a 24V DC small camper refrigerator. I will list some of the other items: Mercedes Benz OM314 engine, 4 speed top load transmission with a compound low, air over hydraulic brakes, 4 new truck tires and two spares, a hoist system to bring one spare from the top of the roof, 4 leaf springs/hangers, spare starter, spare starter cylinoids, spare brakes, misc parts including electrical too numerous to mention, solar panels (not sure if working), 24v generator that we have never tried to use, two new starter batteries (24v system), house batteries (24v) that need to be replaced and a 24 to 12 converter. It also has 24 volt DC refrigerator, dc lights, stand up shower, porta potty, approximately 80 gallons water and 80 gallons diesel, lots of storage and ALL the manuals for all of the systems (in German of course). It is equipped with a gun turret and even an old army helmet. There are two air cushioned truck seats and a 5 ton hydraulic jack. The body has some serious rust that needs attention and around the top you will need to re caulk and join on the right side. I have tried to take pictures of the problem areas and it is the worst in the front and right side top along the companionway door, as you will see in the photos.

This is the truck to start your cross country travels in. We love it and hate to sell it but we must. If you are handy or can weld you could fix her up no problem. Also, because aesthetics aren't an issue you could literally just cut out the rust and weld a new piece/pieces on, roll on some paint and you are done. Of course you could get artistic and cut the rust out and then trim with some beautiful wood. If you are an adventurer, and enjoy occasionally running off the road and parking in the wilderness totally self-contained, this is a must see and a must have. Good Luck!

This truck is fun to go camping in and it is truly a "pied piper" of vehicles. On our cross country trip we were invited to spend the night in back yards and when ever we would stop we would be surrounded by curious on lookers. It is just a fantastic truck and expedition RV.

We have $20,000.00 into this truck but unfortunatley I have not been able to keep up with the necessary maintanence and that is why I have such a low starting price which I truly believe is below its value. There is no reserve, I really need to sell her. Please do not bid unless you intend to buy her.
This is a used vehicle without any guarantees what so ever! Please only bid if you are serious about this truck. As stated, she needs some work so expect that when you buy her!
