Oh man, I would be soooo all over that............ would complement my idea of an expeditionary vehicle perfectly. Tall skinny tires too.... coming from all their WW2 experience in the quagmires of western Europe as to what works best to get you to were you really really needed to go with no silliness.

How much do they go for (if one is even available?)

It was a relist because the winning bidder didn't have the cash to buy. previous winning bid was around $20K. Maybe he will sell it for less now.

You can probably register this in CA without any hassles as well because it is a 1967 diesel.

I love the looks of these old Kaiser Jeeps...shame the engines were such crap. Wondering what replacement engines would fit.......

Pretty cool looking, but I'd question his stated origin. There are things on there I just dont see the DOD as being the source of, and how long has it been since the gubment has owned any Kaisers? And ok it s a turbo charged 4 cylinder, but out of what? Turbo charged does not automatically make it "good". I'd own it for the right price but I dont think I'd dump 20k on it.

Ian on Xtreme Off Road just picked one up and is planning a build which I am stoked for. I love these trucks also. Such a great classic look to them. If they aren't rusted out then they usually go for about 8k in decent shape I believe.

I think it is a Hercules 3.7L 4 cylinder diesel engine based on the way the VC looks.

I don't believe the sales spiel about the DOD re-power. There are a bunch of military type tags and labels on the interior. It looks like a real military truck or some kind of faux "reproduction". Probably built by a military enthusiast who swapped in the Hercules engine and 4sp tranny (maybe ford T19?).

And your right. Not worth $20k, at least to us. I'd pay $10K-$12K for something like that because it is so clean.
