Thought I'd start a thread dedicated my CJ-6 - were it's at now & how I plan to revive her.

I bought her as a donor rig for LilSis the "families" 1959 bodied CJ-6. We realized this one was in to good condition to be a donor rig. Thinking is a resto mod type of build, upgrade it to saginaw steering & maybe ever PS. Upgrade electrical, brakes ect.

Pic from the night we brought her to her new home.

Amazing straight rockers & rust free

Dauntless 225 Odd Fire V-6

All signs are it is a low milage rig, I'd be amazed if it's this low.

Think I'll upgrade these, image parts for Sears hubs might be hard to find

Very cool. I owned one for a short time. Pretty much long enough to sell it. I'll be watching it closely...

Here's a pic of my old one. Come to think of it, mine was an 8 not a 6. Sorry

oh WOW!!! CJ6 is my favorite model Jeep. Looks like you got a really nice one there. I plan to build one when the kids are grown and out of house.

What are your plans for this 6??

Here are a few other cool 6s

Great rigs - here is a short write up on LilSis the CJ-6 i started this lifestyle in @ age 3. Our family vacations were spent expo style camping out of it for weeks in death valley, Dusy trail ect.

This is the Jeep I grew up with starting in 68 or as my brother I refer to as LilSis - the sister we never had. Her current care giver is my father George.

LilSis returns to HDR a few years ago after a long absence has a reunion with old friends & the Olympic CJ-5

LilSis has done the Hump N Bump's Bowl Trail

1st Obstacle that this year we bypassed on Saturday's run.

2nd Obstacle

The Bowl Trails last obstacle that we also bypassed - to many rigs & it's a lot harder now than it was in these pics

She originally came with a 68 then a 64 that it's rebuild prematurely failed by throwing a rod through the side of the block. This one was a spare we built for my 42 Willy's MB project. Sold the MB & LilSis gets a 3rd transplant a 71 Dauntless Buick V6 that's Balanced & Blueprinted w/ hardened valve seats to run unleaded. She also is sporting Crane Cam, Offenhouser intake, valve covers, 4 Barrel Carter AFB carb & MSD distributor.

Her custom dash & half doors began life before Disco

I love CJ6's and 8's. Those 6's everyone posted are great, I hardly ever see them anymore.

Cheers
