1976 Ford F-250 highboy

Way back when my first son was soon to be born I sold my 76 f250 and have missed it ever since, it was pretty rusty when I sold it on 1990 and my friend drove it a few years and it's been parked ever since. He called me today and told me he was gonna sell it to a scrap guy. So like a idiot I told him I wanted it back and would give him more than the scrap guy. I just couldn't see it getting cut up, I will post some pics on Friday when I get it towed to my house. Now Im second guessing wether I want to put a lot of effort and money into rebuilding a old pickup. I should of went and looked at it first, but me and this truck have a lot of history so I'm probably gonna have to fix her up. I was gonna start doing some upgrades to my 2012 Titan but the f250 is much tougher and easier to work on, Would you guys do the f250 or start on the Titan?

Highboy for sure. The only downside is the creature comforts tend to be lacking in the old steel. But this is for adventure right? Might as well maximize your opportunity for adventure and start with the SOLID foundation the F250 has to offer. Additionally, you won't be restricted by emissions laws, so if it came down to an engine swap, you would have more options.

Just my $0.02 Good luck!

H I G H B O Y ! ! ! Old trucks are way cooler. Anyone can buy and accessorize a 2012 titan. The added adventure aspect is not to be overlooked. Plus sounds like you have a dd while truck is in process or being repaired.

In California, I thought the emissions restrictions exemption was for '75 and earlier? I believe it's a state by state jurisdiction thing?

Not sure about Ca law... I was more referring to federal emission laws. Ks law recognizes 3/4 ton trucks as a farm vehicle and has no restrictions on emissions. beyond federal restrictions.
Not sure what Wisconsin has. it might be worth checking into.

What I should have said is he won't be AS restricted with the F-250 than he will be with the Titan.

Haven't got any work done on it yet. I did find some body parts I'm thinking I'm gonna just go buy a less rusty f 100 from Arizona or New Mexico
