Found this on Seattle's craigslist. I kind of love it. I don't think I've ever seen one, actually.

Also looks like its the version which doesn't have any side doors - just back.... would be a bit odd that way to use?

They actually have a pretty low first gear which makes them not-hopeless off pavement, and with those tall flat walls, they're an easy truck to convert for living quarters. However, as with most all of the older Mercedes trucks, they're a lot happier where road travel is slower-paced than in the US.

how hard could that be to repower? its a ladder fame and box. the world is your oyster. slap 6.2 chevy midships and put the bed over it.

Not that difficult to repower with a 5 cylinder 617 but top speed is still limited due to the gearing. I've owned a 307d and a 409d.
