I just found a 1979 J10 pickup for sale. Looks to be in pretty good shape, but it is hard to know for sure because it has been completly bedlinered.
It is one of my short list to look out for project trucks. First on the list would be an FC of either variety, second would be a Commanche with a 4.0 and 4WD, and this would be third andsince this one is a inline six (258) and a 4 speed, it is just about equal to a Commanche on my list.
My dilema is, I won't drive a bedlinered flat black truck around. Maybe when I was 20, but it is not my style now. I figured whatever I bought I would paint silver to match my JK and my trailers. Sort of a theme, all silver and black in the garage/hangar/and driveway as far as the work and utility type rigs go.
Anyone even paint over bedliner? Is it sandable? It seems hard enough. I live in an agriculture area and there are a few painters who have lots of cousins to get stuff done cheap and fast if you know what I am saying.
