After looking for many months, I thought I found the perfect expedition vehicle for me. I was very foolish and bought this online, without driving it. I had extensive work done to it prior to picking it up, but when I flew from CA to Albany NY and picked it up, it was not in the turn-key condition I expected. I have 10K invested, including over 3K of new parts. Because I am in California, and the rig is in NY, I am willing to take a loss if I have to. Someone who wants a near complete project of a unique expedition vehicle can benefit from my mistake. Below are some details:
Built up as a 4x4, with about 8 inches of lift.
5 speed, with 4wd high and low
about 65,000 miles
Interior cabinets all good, and all appliances work, but interior foam and general cleaning is needed.
$3000 of new additions, including:
New Pro Comp all terrain tires,
new wheels,
all wheel bearings new,
new oversized springs,
New Bilstein shocks,
new custom 40 gal propane system,
two new deep cell Interstate batteries,
new inverter,
new custom front and rear bumpers.
Only addition that would improve vehicle mechanically are sway bars, as in my opinion it rides a bit like an overloaded pick up.
