1 of 300 made 1983 with factory power steering, original and complete working Nippon Denso A/C unit, Special seats, jump seats with bottom supports, and full dash, highway diff gears, etc.
Body needs some rust repair at driver floor pan, windshield frame, front cowl, rear sill, front door bottoms, and hard top. Needs fold down windshield retainer brackets replaced on hood.
All electrical works except temp gauge or sender. Car starts well, runs ok probably could use tune up since sitting a year. Has head redone, valves redone, steering box rebuilt, steering rods replaced, and does not appear to leak fluids hot or cold. Car seems to have smog equip but not sure about if its all there. Does not have catalyst. Has just muffler in rear, in good non-rusty shape. Suspension is tight, not bouncy (for an FJ40), seats are very nice, but driver has tear. Seats are from FJ70 series, but were original for this model year FJ40 and are hte original seats from when this car was new as sold in USA, 1983. All numbers match and everything is basically original.
Car does not have rust on the frame or drivetrain or underbody. Only has rust on the top sides from Hawaii fog.
Excellent platform for restoration due to collectible nature of 1983 model year.
