I am putting my 1989 4runner 4x4 5spd up for sale. V6 3.0 engine with 155K Headgasket recall was performed at 80K I believe.
I just had the Water pump and timing chain replaced as well as the front main seal.
Same body style as the 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, and the 1988.
K&N air filter, ARB bumper and Hella Lights
Removeable fiberglass top.
In the last 12 months I have had the following parts replaced or upgraded... heavy duty marlin crawler clutch, main seal replaced,
Power steering pump, Brake master cylinder, new disks and pads in front, new drums in the rear.
In the front I have http://www.blazeland.us/ long travel suspension, 9 months ago or so. I had new t-100 axles put in, wheel bearings, bilstien 5100 shocks and heavy duty torsion bars. Check out blazeland for the flex it can get.
In the rear is the zuk mod with to deal with the previously saggy rear end. Its a good temporary fix. I was planning on fabricating in some
chevy 63" leaf springs using the http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/63SWP.html swap. Not installed yet.
About 2 months ago I had a brand new pair of CARB legal Downey offroad headers installed along with larger exhaust and magna flow muffler. Sounds decent, breathes easier and has more pep than before. The headers alleviate any issues with heat caused by the stock setup. Passed smog just fine 2 months ago.
31" Geolander allterrains. decent tread left. One of the tires has a thinner side wal due to a coil, "Zuk mod", that was pinned against it after flexing too much. I switched out the coils in the rear for taller coils after that occurred. I have not replaced the tire. I have not had any issues with it since that occurred 2 years ago. Just thought any interested parties should know.
With the asking price I will include the following, not installed parts...
Chevy 63" swap kit and rear Bilstien 5100's
IFS cross member brace. Should be installed before serious offroading is done.
I have other parts like a inclinometer and soft top but those will be extra!
This is my daily driver. I have maintained this truck really well with my mechanic.
In the last 12 months my wife and I have used it to go to Joshua Tree, Death Valley, and Sequoia's multiple times with no problem what so ever.
This last weekend we drove to the Kern River taking Rancheria Rd. from Bakersfield to Kern. I averaged 18mpg. Thats fully loaded with 2 people and 2 dogs for a 3 day trip.
This version came from the factory with out the rear seats and the back panels do not have the cubby areas for rear passengers.
I have a carpet kit in the back for sleeping.
Rear bumper is dented in from a slow speed accident. Haven't got around to replacing it.
Paint is faded and has trail rash. Started to sand it for a paint job. Never painted it.
Missing the shifter boot.
Previous owner disconnected the rear window lock in the center console. Rear windows rolls up and down fine.
The passenger side door has trouble opening from the inside. I can do it fine but strangers to the vehicle take a minute to learn.
Its a 24 year old vehicle, It has character but super reliable and fun.
Especially during the warm summer days with the soft top!
Family is expanding and I'm looking to get something a bit newer and roomier.
I'm not in a rush or desperate to sell right now.
Thats about it, if I think of anything else I will update. If you have questions shoot me an email with a number to contact you. I will send more pictures if you need. If you just want more pictures email me and make sure you don't sound like a bot.
The price is FIRM at $3800
Thanks for looking
