FYI, due to Flash construction of website must navigate through to find vehicle.

Anyone out there know if $27,000 is reasonable for a later model Westy Syncro with 100K on the unreliable, underpowered stock engine? These vehicles are definitely on the long term short list for me and I'm still in my "homework" phase. Getting a feel for pricing has been difficult, as I have seen super-nice GoWesty's go for >$100,000, and the resale market is sporadic at best.

Oh and I noticed some right rear body damage they aren't being too upfront about.

Wander on over to Samba.com and check out the classifieds. I'd say that the price asked here is pretty much top end so if it were a really good sample it might be worth it. However, there is probably someone out there who will buy it at that price eventually. On samba you can get syncros for much less and much more. They range from rustbuckets to fully restored with alternative power sources from vw tdi's to Subaru SVX's.

No affiliation...just happened to drive by yesterday. This is about 70 miles east of Los Angeles
97K miles isn't bad...looks in good shape.

It is extremely difficult to find Syncro Westfalia in original condition like this one. If I was in the market I would seriously consider it.

The price is not too crazy. This one looks like it will need some work though - everything is original, down to the radio (really rare) which means that a lot of things will probably need to be looked after. I could tell you many already just by looking at the pictures. But it has all the right options.

To give you an idea, mine has been professionally valued (for insurance) at $33K - which is roughly what I have into it.
