OK, normally I just post a truck and be done with it, no opinions, but this is a pretty cool truck IMO
.
F800 4x4 with a 20,000 lb PTO winch and ONLY 10,000 miles, WOW
Ya, that 429 big block will go through gas like a B-17 with flak holes in the wings, but what the heck, only 10,000 miles. At least it has 5 speed MANUAL trans
Used by AT&T to haul a Tucker SnowCat (hence the weird bed, google Tucker Snow Cat photos and you will see how the 4 tracks work with that bed)
This would make one bada** Expo or TEOTWAWKI truck.

Don't worry no relation to the seller, truck, etc, so just my somewhat biased opinion here.

1990 Ford F800 Cab and Chassis Custom 4x4
Exceptional Condition for Age, Just 10K Miles, Never Seen Road Salt, Runs/Drives Great, Great Rubber, Nice Inteiror, One Mean Setup
This is one of the more curious vehicles we've had recently. We posed the question what it was for when we first listed it, and a nice EBay-er informed us it was used for hauling a Snow-Cat, similar to the Tucker Sno-cat. It was leased by AT&T and is a 1-owner.
The truck has just 10k original miles. It's been in storage the last few years, but they've gone to great lengths to make sure it's well kept. She fires right up and runs/drives just great. It's tall on tires, it's never seen road salt, the interior is super clean, everything works, and it's not one you'll soon see driving down the road.
If you're after a medium duty 4x4 chassis you won't find one with this kind of mileage at this price anywhere. Frankly, the vehicle is worth more in parts, but we'd like to see it find a new usage. Measurements for chassis are listed below.
The paint on the cab is original, never in any fender benders. The doors open and close easily, everything lines up, and there's no damage at all. It could use a quick wax job and it has a few small scratches, but overall, it's darn clean and looks just like the photos. The glass is all fine, wheels look good, all 6 tires have super deep tread, and the frame looks all very good. We touched up the paint on the frame and bed a little, but there's no rot anywhere, only very light surface discoloration as to be expected. This creature has not seen road salt.
There's no leaks on the motor. The PTO seeps some hydraulic fluid and t-case is a little crusty, but nothing bad. It's been sitting for a while and probably just needed cleaned off.
The interior is more or less perfect. It smells fine. There's scarcely wear, only a little bit of normal aging, etc. Everything works, no air conditioning, but I'm sure you could retrofit something without too much pain. It has a pull-choke, idle up control, and manual controls for the t-case which work fine.
We had this vehicle brought on a truck before going through it, we wanted to make sure it was started properly after sitting for a bit. The previous fleet was kind enough to put new spark plugs, new oil, filter, fuel filter, and fuel stabilizer in it before we got it. We pulled all the plugs, oiled the cylinders, put them back in, and installed a new battery and it fired right up. The carb is clean, it runs nice and smooth, and doesn't smoke at all. It's a true 10k mile motor and they really
took good care of it. My guess is, it was started regularly over the last few years.
We changed the fuel filter 1 more time, put in some fresh fuel, and drove it out for a while. The clutch feels ok, trans feels great, it drives straight and the 4x4 works fine. The gauges work, it doesn't get hot, really just a nice rig. This thing is just broken in, will be good for many years to come.
This is a neat rig and a rare find. We guarantee clean title. Feel free to call if you're interested or have questions. Please ask for Michael or Tim when calling or stopping by. 303.841.5377.

It does not have air brakes... thus I doubt it is a f800.

not that i know my head from my ******** about medium-heavyduty trucks... Personally I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
I'm kind of guessing that AT&T (or the seller) did not go to the trouble to swap on F800 emblems just to look cooler cruizin' the mall (the SnowCat on back would have cover the cool factor)

And I'd say you know your way around trucks, regardless of duty size. So what is lacking or an issue with Ford's ?00 series. The MH axles are the go to axles for conversions, so is there something lacking with the rest of the drivetrain or frame? A 429 BB has plenty of power and is a great engine, other then fuel burn, and as thedjjack pointed out, a do-able crewcab change if that is needed.

whats the deal with Frankenstein layout?
It was used to haul a Tucker Snow Cat.
Tuckers have 4 independent tracks so the 'hump-back' style bed work great for them.
The tracks pivot on the ramps so the body of the Snowcat is lower then if it was hauled on a flatbed style bed.

I used to have one like this (a '58) [photo is from the internet, not mine]
