First off, I would Like to start off with sayn hey to all the fellow Jeepers and sayn how glad i am to have found this site. I would like to now take a little time to tell you about about my Jeep. I Drive a 1990 Jeep XJ Limted. I bought the Jeep for about 2,500$ from a local car lot about 1yr ago. The Jeep its self was in pretty good shape for a 1990. It was also stock as thy come. So i started my build. As to date I have these after market part and mods on the Jeep.

The first thing that had to go was the 4.0 that someone had ran pretty low on oil and wasnt at its best anymore. So I searched around and found a New 4.0 from ProMar moters that someone had ordered and backed out With the payment after it was built so I ended up with a New, not a rebuilt, 4.0 with the torque Cam and Lifter kit in it . Also had a aftermarket Timeing Chain and Gear kit.... I had to put a reverse waterpump on it because I took off the a/c and when doing so the new, shorter belt turned it backwards. I also instald
The Accel High OutPut Coil, Cap and Roter, And The 8.8 Wires. Recently added a K@N cool air System With a 1in T/B spacer, And a Magnaflow muffler with a header made my Hooker.

ProComp 4in lift With 1in blocks added to the rear, and 1in Coil bushing spacers in the front to add up to a 5in lift.

1in Transfer Case drop kit.

Shocks that cam with the lift kit.

TeraFlex Greaseable Rear Shackles

2in SpiderTrack WheelSpacer's That convert from the stock 5 on 4.5 to 5 on 5.5 lugnut pattern.

New Stronger Ball Joint Kit Ordered off Rustysoffroad.com

32in Tires on A Set of 15in Rims I got Off A Older CJ

Just put a polyurathan bushing kit on order and Lookn it to a good set of adjustable control arms.

So now to start with my newest problem! I have put my axle's through alot of hard days on the trails and my rear isnt doing so good anymore, and they would cost more money then it is worth to me to rebuild them. So after waitn for something good to come my way I have found a fellow Jeeper with a 1990 XJ that Had a tree fall on it last summer. So after doing some work on his Jeep pickup for him he let me take the axle's of his XJ that were rebuilt about 8,000 miles before the tree smashed the Jeep. Not a bad Deal for 2 days work, and a 4.0 block that I had just layn around, so I ended up with a Dana44 rear axle and Dana30 front. The first part of my new problem I have ran in to, is that they are not the same gear ratio as the axle's I am runing now so I have to do both front and back axle's. The next problem is that the new Dana30 I want to put on the front is a vacume type controled axle, and the Dana30 I am runing now is NOT. So im looking for any ideas on what to do so I can run this new axle on my Jeep even tho I dont have the hookups on my Jeep for it. I would realy like to find a way Without havn to fork out a bunch of money to do so. Any tips or info would be very helpful. So if you have any info that might help me with this problem i would realy like to hear from you..Thanks for your time and effort.

Welcome to the forum. Nice Jeep. :costumed-smiley-007

On the axle that vacume actuated, you could install one of the posi-lok cable systems.

Now I think I might have heard about this in the past. BUT I have no clue as to what it is,how it works, or how to go about finding one.?do you know much about it? is it a good idea or just a easy fix? My jeep spends alot of time off road and I run it preety hard some times!! Thanks for the advice but if you, or any one else could tell me a little bit more about it id realy like that!! thanks!!

I've used this product in the past: http://www.4x4posi-lok.com/

You'd probably have to call them to get the right application for your axle.

Thank you very much I just took alook at the web page. It seems like a good fix for my problem. I also saw that thy had a new fork listed on the page , but did not come with the kit. If Im going to do this im going to do it right so I take it I should replace it also while im in thr? O yes and thanks for the "nice jeep"! I love my jeep and as i noted with the pic it is sitting 1in higher thn in the pic. i will get it washed this week and post some good pic on here for evryone!

Just swap the axle shafts from the non-disco axle into the other one. You will need to install a seal in the disco box for the shaft seal, but other that that, it's easy, and stronger, too.
