1993 Nissan Patrol, expedition ready

This Nissan Patrol (known as Nissan Safari in Japan) is now for sale.

I am the second owner and imported it myself a few years back. I bet the first Japanese owner never got it dirty or even engaged it in 4x4. Sadly it came with a "car wax beauty salon" sticker on it! Guess how long that sticker stayed on... I got this truck with 46,000 miles (75,000km) on the clock and immediately gave it a reality life check; rocks, mud, Roadtrips and all. It now has 78,000 miles (126,000km). I drive it hard but take very good care of it, that's what these trucks were built for! These truck are extremely reliable. They are still used as expedition vehicles worldwide, they are used by Peace Keeping Missions and a bunch of other demanding duties.

This truck is modified, it runs on vegetable oil, it's got parts missing, it's got extra parts that never came factory, it's got CHARACTER and has never let me down!

The very basics:

1993 Nissan Safari
78,000 miles (126,000km)
4.2L diesel with Godspeed aftermarket turbo
5 speed Manual transmission (much stronger and reliable than the auto tranny)
5 seaters.
Hi-Low 4x4.
Factory rear vacuum locker.
24V system with two Odyssey batteries relocated behind passenger's seat.
12V system consisting of a 24V-12V converter with 3rd Gel battery at the back (house battery).
On-board 24v Viair air compressor with external tank mounted against the frame.
2.5 down pipe to full 3" exhaust.
Converted to run on WVO (waste vegetable oil) with dual tank system (25 gallons veggie and 11 gallons diesel)
Dual tank (95L veggie, 40L diesel) can also be used for diesel only.
3" lift (Superior Engineering coils on custom drop box).
16" Procomp aluminum rims with BFG KM2 mud tires (plenty of life left).
Custom HD steel front bumper.
Warn 8274 winch with synthetic line.
30" LED bar.
Custom HD steel Sliders.
Original Nissan 3/4 roof rack/basket.
Stainless roof mounted light bar with 2 LightForce HID and 3 Krager HID.
VisionX LED side and rear lights.
Custom dual drawer at the back with side storage box.
Custom rear ceiling storage.
And there's more, plenty!
NO RUST!
The Autohome Airtop RTT and the ARB awning aren't included in the sale but for the right price I would consider making them part of the package.

If I can find the time I will complete the snorkel project as I have all the parts for it.

And for your other half (oh misery!) they'll be happy to know this truck has a rear heater, heated and electric side mirrors, tilt steering, electric telescopic antenna and funky headlight wipers (your stoned/drunk friends will love those). That's as far it goes for luxury! Actually, it did come with front and rear AC, got rid of that none sense within the first month but if you don't know what side windows are for then the front AC could be reinstalled.

How can I get parts for this?
Easy, walk in any Nissan Dealership with the part number and you'll get it within 2 weeks. Even better is to use some good online distributors for cheaper OEM parts. Don't worry, I'll introduce you.

Is it pristine?
Nope! It's quite decent actually but it's got a nice dent on the rear fender. Why didn't I fix it? Because I was planning on chopping the rear 1/4 panels for more clearance but I'll leave it to you as your first project so you can bound with your new toy.

Do you have more pictures?
Sure, I've detailed most of my mods over the last few years then I got lazy once I started with AmbuLand. I can email more on request. Here's my build thread:

Anything else?
Yeah, it will come with a new windshield cause right now it looks like it went to war. I also need to build a new rear bumper for it.

$19,000 hard earned cash

Awesome ... really very, very cool.

... even has the motor I'd want in one, if I were seriously looking (let's be honest, I'm always looking, what gear-head isn't at least curious about a unique vehicle he comes across).

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback, cheers!

Just a few more bits of info:

- The tires are 255-85r16 (skinny 33's).
- There's a dual filler neck (veggie & diesel combined in one unit).
-There's pyro & boost gauges.
- The radio is a Alpine with iPod interface (iDA-X100).
- Rear stainless ladder
- 12v trailer connection (nicely done!)
- 12v & 24v secondary fuse panels
- interior LED adjustable lights
- pre-wired for additional exterior lights.
- Also have a Trabold by-pass engine oil filter.
- Original headliner replaced by close cell foam.

And bragging rights; winner of best rig at the "2012 Gone Moab" :D

Dream it build it
A rig so nice...it might be worth the move to Canada for our Southern Neighbours :)...

Lots of areas to explore in BC... or maybe a turn key rig for a little North American exploration for someone on a different continent?

Good luck with the sale Mr. D....

Nice rig. Goodluck with sale. I have always wanted one of these, but sadly ended up with the Armada since that is all that I can find in the US.
